El Fuerte Info

One of the westernmost stops on the Chihuahua al Pacifico Railway, El Fuerte's name refers to the Spanish fort established here early in their settlement of Mexico. An excellent departure point for birding and hiking tours of the surrounding scrublands and foothills area, El Fuerte has a diminutive and historical downtown area that's peaceful and charming.
