Aticama is a small fishing village on the Pacific Coast, just south of San Blas. Here the foothills of the Sierra Madre meet the Pacific Ocean; its natural beauty and convenience to towns and beaches north and south draw an increasingly large North American community of rat-race dropouts and retirees.
