Eat traditional barbecue, tacos, gorditas, and other types of hot food at the tianguis ($--$$; market) in the center of town near the church of St. Nicholas of Tolentine.

Museo del Ex-Convento de San Nicolás (Museum of former Monastery of St. Nicholas of Torentine): Calle Lerdo de Tejada, small entrance fee; closed Monday.

Tianguis: The large, open-air market is held Wednesdays, with a smaller version daily.

How to Get There & Away

Actopan is 37 km (23 miles) northwest of Pachuca on Highway 85.

From Pachuca, buses leave from Terminal Terrestre (Blvd. Rojo Gómez; tel. 771/713-3449) throughout the day.
