Although not on the beach, San Ignacio has one of Baja's most luxuriant oases. The Jesuits founded this mission towns, planting date palms and fig trees near the water's edge. After the Jesuits were expelled, the Dominicans finished the lovely church, one of the prettiest on the Baja Peninsula. Today this small town attracts those wanting an authentic, slow-paced desert experience.
