Pendejo

Meaning: Although the literal meaning is “pubic hair,” pendejo is a popular and useful word that Mexicans use regularly to mean dummy, idiot, or fool. The Larousse Spanish-English dictionary lists the meaning “coward” as well, while Collins bilingual dictionary lists it as an adjective meaning “silly, stupid; contemptible; irresponsible; cowardly.” In Mexico, it more commonly is used to say “idiot, or jerk.”
