Yelapa: Yelapa is cool. Most folks visit on day trips by water taxi or on bay tour cruises out of Puerto Vallarta or Nuevo Vallarta, and it’s an excellent way to spend the day. But there’s lots to do beyond the breakers that lap lazily against the shore at this deep cove. Hike into the mountains, where you can visit one of the breathtaking waterfalls. Hire a pangero for fishing or snorkeling. Enjoy the funky town and friendly people. This is a great place to enjoy laid-back Mexico with plenty of basic creature comforts.
