San Crisanto: A tiny town along the north coast of the Yucatan Peninsula (and Yucatan State), San Crisanto lies just 29 kilometers (about 18 miles) east of Progreso, near Techac Puerto. Here you’ll see some of the round Maya huts called na. Well-insulated adobe with thick thatch roofs, these are the traditional Maya homes. In addition to a sandy beach, San Crisanto offers mangrove tours for bird watching or just relaxing in nature, with a side trip to a swimmable sinkhole.
