Los Mochis
Near but not right on the Pacific, Los Mochis is hot, humid, and bustling with low-key commerce. It’s a friendly if unexciting city with plenty of seafood restaurants. Many tourists come exclusively to board the Chihuahua al Pacifico railway, which puffs off to points east at 6AM.
Places to see and things to do:
- Los Mochis city tour combined with Topolobambo bay tour to see birds and dolphins
- Bird watching and sea lion tours to Isla del Farallón
- Offshore fishing near Isla del Farallón
- Tours to Ahome with visits to tropical fruit plantations and small towns typical of this agricultural area
